The Search Begins
Dr. Lance was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, but grew up about 20 miles west in the small town of Laplace. He fondly remembers learning “old world” mannerisms and small town values: importance of family and friends, respect for authority, and appreciating the little things that make life so important. He was afforded the joys of country life; hunting, fishing, bicycling, playing various sports, and just enjoying being outside. He later worked in his dad’s profession as an Operations Supervisor at the local Shell Oil Refinery (a fourth generation Shell baby), and later worked as a Major Project Operations Representative, Inspection, and a Process Safety Manager for two Refineries, among other assignments in his 26 plus years of service. It was during this time that he discovered massage therapy and went on to work at Beau Rivage (Bellagio’s sister) in Biloxi, Mississippi, and became Lead Massage Therapist at the opening of both Wynn and Encore Resorts in Las Vegas, Nevada. Working the weekends in Las Vegas supported his weekday school habits to pursue his Chiropractic dream. While in Chiropractic College, he relapsed with a severe case of “gold fever” and used prospecting “as an escape” from his studies. Today, he can still be found searching for the elusive yellow metal when not in the Clinic. After a Chiropractic mission to Honduras, externship in Brazil, and graduation, he married his beautiful wife, Nadina. They have 4 children between them: Seth, Kristine, Marianne, and Rafael and are blessed with 7 grandchildren.
Chiropractic: The Next Logical Step
Dr. Lance enjoyed his experience as a former Massage Therapist; appreciating the human body as the “miraculous machine” that it is. He gained a great deal of personal satisfaction out of making people feel better; therefore, Chiropractic was the next logical step. He has been trained to work with the body from the inside out, as well as from the outside in. He understands that the joints are more than just two bones articulating, and that treating the surrounding soft tissue will help speed the healing of the joint complex, improving patient outcomes. “Chiropractic works with the body to help to heal itself.” Removing the interferences in the brain/body/brain communication system allows proper information flow, helping to maintain the body at its optimum biomechanical functionality. Dr. Lance greatly appreciates the trust and confidence that his patients place in him, and he works diligently to improve their physical wellbeing.
